I should say that the truescale-style battlespace modelling of NGCS permits and encourages such discussions to occur.

Thus in the tradition of progressive evolution of military technology which is one of the key features of PDS, the next transition will be of converting the Homeworld technological base into one based on realistic scientific knowledge while retaining the sci-fi flavour of the universe.

In particular I would like Glacialis and others well versed in RL science to comment in the above linked thread.
