Liir Hra
90-8742
first off I love this ship and it's always been a great piece of work, but I have heard rumors about it being phased out I can see why but wouldn't make sence to make it a Soban only ship. From my understanding of the Soban they are a light strike force having a ship with the abilitys of the Liir Hra would be an advantage.

I intend to downclass the LiirHra into a widely proliferated light cruiser on the former destroyer unitcaps - it will be phased out from the present heavy strike role as we have other ships more capable for the task.

LiirHra cruisers will thus be the backbone of fast striking taskgroups composed of 2 CL, 2 CVA (with holds filled with Avenger IVs).

Multiple LiirHra's. That's a pretty thought. Smile

That'll definitely be nice to have more than one of those lovely killers available.

And what about Tulwar??

They seem the right size to fill the void left by the Destroyers, you could change the armaments to fit the different roles.

@Mad: I heard that the real problem with Liir Hra is that the CAN'T change its armament (I mean they can change the weapons but they can't change/add new turrets).

@mrWHO: I meant the Tulwar, with different armaments it could take up the role of destroyer, and BTW it's Maw

The Tulwar hull is too small to support much in the way of capital ship grade armaments, and it could never be remotely as durable.

Oh reeeeeally? Smile

I shall mimic Lady Thorin and say Oh reeeeeally? as well.

Do you need some proper motivation? Smile

I enjoy the Lirr-Ha as well, very much! However, it has some of the same issues as Bloodhounds; ie: it rushes into the thick of things, then basically stops while turning around for another strafing run Sad
While stopped it is a sitting duck, losing much (or all) of its life while simply turning around... is this another case of my needing to use Waypoints to keep this from happening? I'll have to play with that...

However, one super-heavy Space Superiority group I've been playing with is the following:
1 Lirr-Ha
4 Bloodhounds
1 Linebacker
2 Tulwars
Plus any similarly-configured Vagyr frigs that have been captured - especially Spahis and Qarinas...

This group is heavily armored and ideal to take out enemy frigates, corvettes and hunting down lone capital ships.

With TWO Lirr-Has I would simply beef up the above group some more, or maybe split them off on their own.

When I play as a vanilla HW'er, (ie: not Sobani), my SS group is usually made up of Khopeshes, gun/ion corvettes and Bloodhounds, with a Linebacker thrown in for it C3 capabilities (force multiplier?).

You obviously are not trying hard enough!

Tulwar = dead. It is now the Cazador! Heil! Feuer Frei!

And for the LH, engage anything smaller, nothing bigger, is what I do. Like being the biggest kid on the block. But in numbers.... ufufufufufuuf.

So the Cazador (hunter) is a heavy C3 combat frigate? Or is it a Higgie version of the Qarina (pocket DD)?

The *only* thing about the Tulwar that I don't like is its bridge - it looks like someone placed a building on its hull... very non-sleek. But its firepower and maneouverability, I like a lot!
