Hey, I just joined the forum and I want to ask the community a simple question: What does PDS do to Homeworld 2? I installed Sun-Tzu's 7.3.0 classic, then 7.3.1 classic. But I have barely noticed any changes to my game. Besides new options on the main menu, the replacement of "scenario" for the "tutorial" icon. The scenario's themselves just bring up the tutorial missions, which confuses me. In skimirsh I have noticed new options, but the new game types don't work or crash my computer. Some of the maps are just which which makes them impossible to play. I have noticed no changes to the units either, except that fighters move better in accordance to the Dynamic Ships mod (Although I don't know if Dynamic Capships was included because my frigates are still stationary.) Even the Vaygyr Flagship still has no real defences, neither does the Hiigarian Mothership. Could you please tell me if I have not installed this correctly? Or if I am just oblivious to the major changes? Thanks. |

Hi and welcome! It looks that your installation is somewhat messed up. Start from a clean Homeworld 2 data directory (without any third party file or previous PDS file). Put the contents of the 7.3.1 folder into it (then you should have ai, art, ...subsystem, weapons subdirectories in the data directory). Create a new profile. Play ![]() If that does not work (for example, you can't see new UI screens, new ships or you have a crash-to-desktop), re-read the installation tips in the support section of this forum. Do not hesitate to post again if that does not work. A last remark, the 7.3.1 file is not "mine". It is just some polishing work made by Inert and me on the basis of the mod that has been created by Tel Quessir with the help of the PDS community. |

Thanks a lot Sun Tzu, I will un-install Homeworld 2 just to be safe then try again. I never knew you needed to make a new profile, which may have been the cause of my problems, but better to be safe and just try again. Also, I did not mean to cause any ill feelings by referring to it as yours, I just saw that you were the one who posted it on the forum and your name was constantly linked to it, so I just assumed that it was your own project. Edit: [Update] After doing a clean re-install then putting the mod files into the right locations I started it up again. Made a new profile and saw no change. I looked back to the installation problems section and found the cause of my problems. I never added the -OverrideBigFile part to my shortcut, so it works now. I love the new capital ships and the lengthy death times.
