Creative Writing 102 Aka PDS campfire stories
Ironwatsas
The rules here are simple, one person writes a paragraph, than another person picks up where the last one stopped in a continous story that must be related to HW or PDS in some way. They have to be related in some way but not generally closely.

And so it begins...

***

Gunshots rang across the open deserts of Piiau III. Former Vaygr warmaster Sharad Kazulr fell to the dirt with a gunshot wound to the leg. Behind him was a robed figure, clutching a pistol in one hand and a sword in the other. Sharad shouted "Please don't kill me! If there's anything you want, money, salt, gems, I can provide." The robed figure walked ever closer. Although he had multiple open gunshot wounds, he walked as if nothing was happening. The figure stoped just in front of Warmaster Sharad. "Why are you after me!?" Sharad yelled. The figure replied, in a raspy, somewhat inhuman tone "You know far too much about us. Why did you meddle in affairs that you could not possibly understand or prevent. Now you have doomed the warriors of the fringe as well as yourself." Sharad pleaded "But our goals are the same. The destruction of the Hiigarans and conquering of..." The figure, now annoyed said "We care not about your petty struggle or vendetta against the Hiigarans. We have every right to hate them far more than you. They relased us, fought us, and thought they destroyed us. The Taiidan too thought they could use us, but only strenthend us as your warriors will." The figure aimed his gun at Sharad's head and said "There is only one purpose the Vaygr can serve us, food." The figure fired one shot into Sharad's head and turned and slowly left without remorse.

"Civilian vessel IW1-3214 cleared for re-entry on vector one one five, landing on Gelb Atoll runway two, have a safe landing." the space traffic controller at Rachacr III said in a neutral tone as the ship decended into the upper stratosphere. Bounty hunter Seg Tambuur, great grandson of the legendary Ifiirt Tambuur, gracefully manuvered his modified Fremm built aKRNm-b Valkiyre strike fighter through the clear atmospere of the small but popular world. "This is IW1-3214 on final approch, requesting landing clearence, over." Seg spoke into his headset. The controller responded "Affirmitive IW1-3214, you are clear for landing, winds at 15 NNE, celing unlimited, visibility 23, good luck."

Rachacr III was a small resort world covered by a shallow ocean with countless reefs, islands, and atolls. The planet was mostly inhabited by immegrated life such as blue Sharks, Tropical Bass, Nathoran Bullsquid, and Hiigaran Plains Monkeys. The planet was sparsely populated with the exeption of Gelb Atoll, the largest (and only) city on the planet. The system had been occupied by the Imperial Taiidan, but did little to quell it's popularity as a resort.

As Seg's ship lowered its gear and flaps in preperation for landing, Seg muttered to himself "Why do I always get hired by some criminal kingpin to clean up space debris or haul everyone else's crap around?" This was a simple job to take a small package to a mob boss that paid very little compared to what it was worth, but he was mostly returning the favor for some illegal weapons mounted on his ship. As he touched down he saw a black limosine and several bodyguards near a hangar. "That must be them" he thought to himself as he taxied over to the hangar. He parked his ship next to the limo and stuck his head out of the hatch. "Where is the blue raven's nest?" he yelled. A large, suit clad man responded "In the steel mountains of Khasiid IV." Seg hit a switch to open the cargo bay ramp and pulled out a small crate marked 'live animals'. "Do you have my package?" the man yelled. Seg responded "what do you think this is?" and hauled the crate over to the man. Seg said "I would like proof of ownership." The man gestured over to his bodyguard, who opened a briefcase full of money. "And my package?" the man said. Seg opened the crate. "Here it is, the rare Albino Headcrab" Seg produced the small creature, which immedietly lept twoard it's new owner. "Watch out, he hasn't been de-beaked yet. You also would'nt belive what I had to go through to get him here." Seg looked toward the money "this is an awful lot for a headcrab, even an Abino one. Ahh well I'm not complaining." The man replied "Consider this the first payment for your next job. I need you to deliver a final message to an old 'friend' of mine." Seg asked "Who's the target?"

The first one was not bad - second one can use some paragraphing.

At your level I advice you start off with a first-person perspective to get the "momentum" of writing going. Once you're done you will find that you can do the second scene here much better.

I would give my input to serve as an example if not for the fact that I've already too many characters to handle - but if you're willing to keep up regular input like this I can partner you no problems. Ask and you receive.

Is anyone going to do this or am I going to have to finish this myself. This was meant to be a collaberative effort between more than one person, so someone please write a paragraph. Am I the only person here (besides Tel, Relaxation, Thorin, Zenprime, Yasotay, etc) with any spontanious roleplay initiative?

::Begins rampaging through town making a nuscance of myself in any way possible::

Perhaps not everyone has hours of free time as the others.

I personally think that you had better shape up and wait a little while before you make such assumptions, such as the fact that none of us have RP initiative.

I'd direct you to my current RP exploit, but Tel seems to hate it for some reason Pfft. http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=482945 if you're interested - I'm Aralonia.

So, in short: yes, we have spontaneous (Misspelling on your part earlier) roleplaying initiative. We are just too busy elsewhere.

And you'd better clean up your damn mess you made of the city.

And do not forget that English is not everybody's native or main language. Personnally I find it quite hard to write any kind of fiction in English (even in a pre-formatted way), because I lack the required nuances and vocabulary.

TelQuessir
Iron, I request that you be reasonable.

I wish to help you, but if you continue making such... messes there will come a time where I'll have to allow my moderators to sate their hunger for your blood.

It is always better to contribute to existing RPs than to start your own and expect input. Give me a proposal for your place in my RP and I'll gladly point you the right direction and instruct you as my squire until you can prove to me that you're capable of impressing me in RPed paramilitary leadership Pfft

Note that I'm doing this for the sake of your RP enjoyment in honor of your personal initiative, out of my own time. My PM box is always open, and so is the door if quitting is your solution to every problem in life, virtual or not.

Ironwatsas
Alright, I'm over it. I just get like that when I don't get 24 to 36 straight hours of sleep.

But could you please define your "place for me in your RP?" Do you mean a charicter based on myself or my actual writing of parts of it?

TelQuessir
Both. Tell me what role you want to play in Visaya's quest and I will fit you in to the best of my ability. Fail at your peril.

Succeed and you will eventually be well off to write your own fiction from scratch or at least be able to create your own PDS custom content on the strategic level. You simply have to talk to me.

Ironwatsas
The character Seg Tambuur is a bounty hunter and mercanary. He might be hired by the Ravinder fleet or some other group. There is a Bio on him in the PDS/NGCS minor charicter idea dump.

Just as long as he dose'nt die or anything because he's important for later.
