Mod Crashes
Zyke
I followed the insutructions for installing the latest version of PDS (from the download section) and it won't run. I extracted the file to my HW2 folder and modified the shortcut to the parameters it says in the readme. However, when I run the shortcut and load the game, the normal menu comes up. I go to Player vs. CPU, select the PDS 7.6-AS option, and the game crashes to desktop on the load screen.

Any ideas on what the problem could be? I've read through the readme and can't find anything I did wrong, I even uninstalled and reinstalled HW2 and the mod to see if that would do it.

Edit: I think this is the log from my crash. I have no idea what it means, but I was told it might help to post it here. Again, I think this it it, but not 100% sure. I made bold the part where it said "error" and after.

The issue is the "mesh larger than 20km" - which pertains to the planet models.

Open each AS map file and remove references for each planet object found (no more than 2 per map) and you are set.

Level files are found in HW2/data/multiplayer/leveldata

Alright, I got rid of all the planets, but new error now :/

Wow, mac-type errors on windows! a friend in misery!

The line that causes the bug is: SetStartFleetSuffix("duel"), which is strange Grinead:.

1. make sure you did not leave files or folders from earlier versions or other mods

2. if there was nothing left, open duel.lua and replace SetStartFleetSuffix("duel") at line 58 by SetStartFleetSuffix(startf)

3. if that does not work, delete line 58, go to the startingfleet folder (within the scripts folder) and delete "duel" from all the file names (for example hiigaran00duel will become hiigaran00)
