Sorry if this is not exactly sci-fi. This week, Pierre Closterman passed away. He was the French ace of WWII with an impressive record of 33 certified victories and 5 probable others. After the war he wrote a wonderful and popular book named "the Big Show" telling the story of his life within the Royal Air Force during the war. His descriptions of dogfights above England and Normandy are still amazing. |
