AAR Background 23rd Brigade under temporary command of the Hiigaran Navy's 506th Division was assigned to a section of the Karelian sector occupied by allies of Hiigara for deployment shakedown and training. During their stay, a supposedly rogue Vagyr cruiser group loyal to the Armada arrived in a populated system within 23rd Brigade's deployment area. The green task group hyperspaced in and engaged the dated bandit cruisers and escorts without losing any of their own. While a success, the commanding officer had some words to say about the new refitted Resolution IIa FAs known as Longinus. Excerpt from the After Action Report of Commander Jehovah Paktu of the 506th's 23rd Brigade: Quote Now, the use of my Longinus FAs as pocket cruisers worked quite well, employing them as such in a slightly modified Wolf maneuver (as described earlier in my report), but, after a discussion with my senior tactical officer, Lieutenant Commander Yeschach Manaan, I would like to field some on-field bug reports on the new FAs. It seems as though the dated tactical suite used by Resolution IIs is reaching closer to capacity with the additional weapon systems employed by the Longinus FA. While not at capacity, and as such not a critical problem, bridge space constraints inadvertently made the engineers behind the new configuration employ a previously emergency tactical station located amidships for direct control of the new heavy missile boxes. Now, it didn't seem like much of a problem during the initial shake down. However, during the engagement with the aged Titan of Fire cruisers, we found a little bug. The networking between the bridge and the auxiliary tactical station were not touched, and the increase in sustained traffic seems to have shined light upon shortcomings in the auxiliary's backup systems. Every time we cycle targets during standard procedure of damage reporting after a hit, we temporarily lose signal with the missile pods. It always comes back after 20 second data flush in the auxiliary station, but during that time, the station and the bridge can't communicate. We were able to write up procedure on an effective and thorough way to fix this bug when it comes up (see attached documents for review), but a physical fix needs to be made in the future to prevent migranes during combat. Short and sweet. Lovely in-depth technicality. Say, this could be the beginning of some good PDS RP that needs nothing more than simply watching how the ships perform in-game. |
