You may have noticed that at one point of time we have used PDS v6 to v7 as a roleplaying medium. Well those huge grand efforts took up a bit too much effort from the contributors so didn't really take off but this year I'm going to personally attempt a smaller scale, more personalised RP effort in blog format. I intend to roleplay an ASCA pilot based on an airship-carrier of the Union of Elyassia, initially battling against Turanic Raiders on a agricultural planet, then taking off to space as the operating environment morphs later. This will be based off the works of various PDS community folks including [G]/Relaxation, DHawking, Methuselah, Les-R, Norsehound and Cobalt Shiva. Look out for "Birds of Prey - Asha One" on http://blogsofroleplay.com/ The idea to use a blog for RP is from Daniel Hawking who is presently participating in a rather youthful roleplaying camp. I wanted to torment Daniel by playing Pirotase from Record of Lodoss War (tsk tsk tsk @ Inert) but decided that I could do something better using our PDSverse mecha and airship concepts. Sounds great - I look forward to reading it. The blog format should work well.

Snerkkkkk. Youthful. Heh. Roleplaying using online weblogs or online journals (read: Livejournal) can be quite fun, in my experience. I'm definitely supportive of this effort. (Internet has died, will find alternative access methods soon. Currently at uncle's house) A starlight sharpshot magical girl!

Writing has commenced and the ASCA RP starts off very simply in the land operations context. The grand finale of this RP fiction will be the showcasing of a desperate mass-boarding action of a Imperial Taiidani "QJE" in space. The "tactic" of crash landing ASCA carriers into enemy capital ships during a space engagement is never attempted by the HGN nowadays due to the prospective casualty levels but in the Eastern galactic theatre of operations the Federation of Cush Navy and other minor components of the Allied Forces are fighting a war against crack Imperial legions with minimal HGN support due to the HGN's focus out of necessity on eradicating the threat still posed by the Vagyr. |
