Posts: 25 Joined: November 14 2005	Currently, the only "super powers" fighting worth mentioning are the Hiigarans and the Vaygr. However, both have allies. Hiigara has the Cush and Ellysians, and what's left of the Nalthor. The Vaygr have conquered races which first and formost are the Taidanii (who are rebuilding their empire). Each "other" race has controbuted to both sides (Arelian Defender and the bombardment ship are some for the hiigarans, the new Shamshir and QJE for the Vaygr). Of course, if there are ever any other "races", it seems the Taiidan will resurface as they have at least similar features to the other homeworld ships and have two ships already in there with, at least, one more on the way (the sexy missle cruiser/destroyer/thing).

A small band of people from both sides who dont like either of the civilizations (not race) for some reason or another (Religious, economics, corruption, etc). These guys could have ships that combine the technologies of both races. They of course probably wont have the best tech from each race, but they could have their own version of both.

Posts: 528 Joined: September 08 2005	If I get it right, the IVF is not confined to the Karelian cluster; the core IVF is in the former Nalthoran space where renegade Vaygr houses (other than Mar'yan) fled from Makaan. Lots of info in several threads in Port of Nalthor and Scenarios sections. Btw universe is big indeed but HW is located in a single galaxy (M41).

Posts: 637 Joined: September 09 2005	IVF being the remains of many of the great clans that followed Makaan have coalesed into several pockets, the greatest being that in Nalthoran space. They are ignored (for the moment) by the Hiigaran's who have larger battles with the Armada to worry about, and because they also shoot at the Armada. Other than the Mar'yan who did not fight with Ma'kaan, they don't much like the Hiigaran any more than the Armada. Third race does not happen overnight. Ships and play-testing etc. While someday their could be one the shear size of the effort makes it too hard to do part time. Besides Tel' has to much fun with continuing to work two races.
