Not done yet, but you can just smell the old USAF-NASA conflict all through this. Piggybacked X-15 versus missile-launched capsule, who gets to claim what. Aerospace won't be a useful term until Air Forces develop hybrid or transit-capable aerospace-frames (think Thunderbolt-class Starfuries) which can carry combat through any of the contested air-space boundary definitions across the supposed uninterrupted vertical dimension of combat. Mmmm... memories I'm too young to have..... ![]() This is a good paper, and nice for a fresh-air perspective on what sometimes feels like a profoundly naval simulation dynamic. (Nose back into pages...) [I'm going to shut up until I finish it; I feel stupid commenting on something the author makes obvious shortly thereafter] Edited by myrddin on 09-09-2005 02:57 |

Im guessing the Higarans have similar dilemmas, however they have produced ships which can be deployed in and out of an atmosphere, the blade FTI , and the liihra CL , i think there is also a concept frigate made by Norsehound, Having them combined can make it easy to organise defense structure and centralise forces, On those to papers they seem very sci-fi 'ish coming from government sources ,lol i guess space warfare is something governments are planning for |
