Hehehhehehehheehhehe. Mu La Flaga, Moebius Zero, Launch! It's too bad that there weren't enough of these, really. Just need more spatial organization/orientation... On another note - excellent. A bit rough here and there but I think personally (coughSEEDFANBOYcough) that it shows promise. Problem - docking/undocking the gunbarrels? Gunbarrels in general? How do we get multiple different types of strike craft in one flight? There may be ways for the docking, at least - just have the spacing really close for F3 and on F4 relatively far away. Or we can have F2 as the close-in, F3 as the 50-meter spacing, and F4 as the 2(root)50 meter away spacing (like F4 but forward 50 meters). A starlight sharpshot magical girl!

Taiidani drone/missile cruiser. Consider that concept accepted for texturing later on. The Mobius / Paladin concept by A7 will be refined such that the ship is able to adapt to HW2 type support craft deployment and recovery methods. The model featured in the thread starter will be used as a attack light corvette - the Hiigaran equivalent of the Failaka class. Edited by TelQuessir on 18-10-2005 05:06 |

Um, your Paladin-A looks a little like the craft from the last starfighter. Intentional?

Excellent work as always A7. This new craft will open up a whole new realm of possibilities in light corvette development. It also fills in the roles of two Relic concepts - both light corvettes. One appears to be a larger version of the Avenger and another is a widened Blade interceptor chassis with two plasma cannon turrets. |

How is this different than a heavy bomber or fighter? |

I'm going to tentatively agree with yasotay here. What niche is this filling? A drastically different design such as this is always the result of new design philosophies. They come about because a new and more efficient way of doing things has been discovered, meaning that newer vessels will resemble this one. Is this representative of newer vessels? What are the new capabilities or performance enhancements provided by this design? On the other hand, specialized ships by their very nature will be engineered differently, with very different expectations. Is this a specialist design? If this ship is going to be cheap, to lower the average RU cost then great. Otherwise, what niche are HGN strikecraft lacking?

Spamity Calamity! Full Missile Version. A total of 72 tubes ready to fire. ![]() ![]() Could Tel perhaps provide me with a rough outline on weapons load out for this cruiser? Apocalypse: Great model! Love the drone pods on the A series. Edited by silvren on 19-10-2005 08:44 |

Psssht. 72 tubes. Good 'ole Praetor has about 80 tubes. I say, bring the pain ^_^. But it's a nice model - they're all very nice models. Gimme a cruiser any day.

You don't need my assistance to plan the ship's loadout. Complete the model, then we talk. |

Well it is ugly enough to be Taiidan  You realize a missile ship of this nature will be a significantly disruptive technology within the PDS'verse and (heaven forbid!) unbalance the game. It will spawn a requirement for Hiigaran ships to defend against the exponential increase in Vaygr volume of fire. Just the sort of thing we like in PDS. |

I'm more concerned about the first model posted, since the Vagyr on has seen overwhelmingly positive commentary. |

Quote I'm more concerned about the first model posted, since the Vagyr on has seen overwhelmingly positive commentary. The only positive commentary I need is where the ship's modeller may produce a ship capable of fulfilling a certain role that was drafted by either a writer or myself. Thus in my point of view, the Paladin project has far more value than the missile cruiser. If you want to make comments about "this ship not Hiigaran", then expect Hiigara to the wiped off the face of the galactic map within 6 months. That much is deserved for people who constrain themselves to a certain chain of thought and stay there while everyone else progresses in evolution. |

Edited whiny comments out. I shouldn't reply to anything when I first wake up. I will endeavor to make the concept work, instead of bitching about it having no place. If the powers that be say that it can work, dang it, I'll try to make it work. As was said by one Arthur C. Clarke "When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong."
