its great, but.. (update)
Draconian23
okay, everything runs smoothly and all of it's totally awesome, but before I did everything right, I accidentally extracted the V11 files into the data folder. any idea how to clean this up without killing the regular files?

(Update)

okay, everything is fine and I'm going to leave it alone now. I'd just like to say, OMG WOW! PDS V11 is soooo awesome!!! it's just awe inspiring!

the only beef I have with it is I feel overwhelmed. I dont know how all the new ships click with the game and how they interact with enemy ships. I dont want to sound like a n00b when I say this, but the ship names have me confused, and so does the variety. I just dont know what to do, and there is no tutorial. any help guys?

Okay..well, I'm new here but I'm assuming by "Before I did everything right" you mean, you didn't copy your vanilla hw2 data before extracting v11 to it? I don't know -exactly- how much of the data folder the PDS mod changes but if I were you I'd un-install, then re-install and start again.

Just an idea but I don't know exactly how you did it wrong xD

If you forgot to patch, I managed to patch my hw2 after installing the mod anyway.. :/

Sorry for the double post but, I'm pretty sure that you only need the "Animatics" folder in Data to play vanilla hw2..try moving/ removing everything else in the data folder besides that?

tbh I don't really remember what is in the basic hw2 data folder, it's been so long since I played the normal game D:

I think for the basics to run the normal HW2 you need the English.big, EnglishSpeech.big, Homeworld2.big, and Music.big. And as said above, the Animatics.

I did the same at the start too. I downloaded PDS and then got confused and deleted everything. Dont do what I did. Leave the required things (above) so that if you screw up the mod at least you have the vanilla. Also, if you dont wanna mess around with the mod after you've gotten it then download it in .big. Its alot simpler.

You dont get all those tiny lil files that mess up yur game if even one is missing.

But you guys got it working right?

Observation on big file duly noted. Major relases will be packed that way. No excuse not to, given the large numbers of tools available these days.

=) So glad! Big files always make me happy.Smile Less messy, easy to use. And yea mine works awsomely (<---is that a word?). Love the shiny map XD. Its shiny. :yummy:

Im wondering, how is it possible to get two mods to work at once? Ive seen it done a few times and I attempted to get Pirates (my second mod obsession after a depression of not being able to get PDS to work) and PDSv11B8 to work together. And it only noticed PDS. Better than pirates, but both would be awsomer. o.O is that word too?

Anyways plz reply.
May the PDS be with you.

It's hard work to make 2 mods coexist with each other. So don't try it XD

Pretty hard, but not impossible Wink:

First post read!
The one cure to being new to a game is to just play it from easy and then on up.
If you dont wanna take the time to do a that consider-->. Just put the enemy on easy and start an Early Assault game. Put the unit cap and fleet size to max and build the ships. ( It gives you a certain amount of time. Dont panic. Just press Pause Break and think your way through it. When the times up the building is just like a normal skirmish. ) Get into a big fight and see how they deal with units.

Im no expert so im not going to give you an extended lecture about the ships and their abilities. So GL:up:
May the PDS be with you.

TelQuessir
Lol lecture. The ships shoot other ships and that's all you need to know. XD

B0nes
naw. they explode too. Oh and go up, down, forwards, backwards.Grin:
May the PDS be with you.

TelQuessir
Go on, you're doing fine.
