Hi. My name is not important. I am a representative of the Grand Empress Suzuran and I am here to bring DOOM to this puny planet. Not really. |

Hi a guy by the name of Daniel Hawking posted information about PDS and the link on my forum http://www.jaysondesigns.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=58&highlight= and I saw some screenshots and it looked very interesting also I've been looking for a reason not to uninstall HW2 because I don't play it much anymore. I just read the whole nanotecnology discussion an I am amazed. I will be posting some of my own ideas if thats ok. Im 17 my name is Bojan and I think your mod from what I've seen and heard so far is amazing. I also model and I hope I can be a part of your team. I love Homeworld 2 I unfortunetly did not play HW or HW:C but nonetheless I love HW2. From just the trailers alone I've deduced that PDS is Homeworld 2 ON A 'FATAL' DOSE OF VIAGRA!!!!

Nova-Dragon - The Shiri (designated very formally the Avenger in the order of battle) was modelled by James O'Donnell, who supported PDS development from versions 3 to 6. The ship was based on an atmospheric corvette concept in one of the Relic artworks, and subsequently developed into a multi-role strike fighter that bridges the size and capability gap between the fighter and corvette. The fighter that relies on maneuverability has poor endurance, and the corvette has good endurance but no maneuverability to make a difference outside of specialist roles - hence the HSFX (heavy strike fighter, experimental) project that led to Avengers Mark 1 to 4. The present model is the Avenger Mark 3, modernised to G5 standards for the Mark 4. Vincent - I sort of "ran into" Daniel about two months ago and he introduced me to the Gundam universe which has become my new hobby. Regarding the statement "hope to be part of your team" you may consider yourself already a part of it by contributing ideas. The post v7 PDS -> NGCS effort is an open source one and is not constrained by any formal procedures. What's needed to support such an open effort of course, is constant feedback and input. |

Other than kicking the computer and hope it works I can think of nothing in particular - I'd need you to run HW2/PDS7 with the -overridebigfile and -luatrace shortcut parameters, then locate a file called "hw2.log" located in homeworld2/bin/release/ If you want to skip that, don't do whatever you did to crash the game - the SP campaign, deathmatch modes and the test Vagyr campaign are all 100% reliable in functionality so try those instead. |

I thought i might introduce myself, I'm not really new but I post so rarely that i doubt anyone knows me. I'm 16.. on the 23 of January, I live in New zealand as you can probably see. I bought homeworld 2 because of the pds mod way back then, i had played the demo and enjoyed it a lot but was still iffy on spending the $100 to get it but seing the screens of pds and reading the thread on the relic forums sealed the deal. In all other game communities my name is Tel and its been that way since the early days of Tribes 2. When i first joined the relic boards after learking in the pds mod thread mainly, I made my name as Proudkiwi mostly because i had wanted to change my online alias for a while from Tel as it was just the first word i saw when making my name for Tribes 2 but also to avoid confusion with the all mighty TelQuessir. I have since reverted back to Tel. Right now I am helping work on Volitant assault an indie game made on the Torque engine. Its communtiy sequel of the games Tribes and Tribes 2 you can check it out here if you want http://volitantassault.com whew this turned out bigger then anticipated heh ended up writing my life story oh and btw its still confusing seeing people say Tel in there posts here ![]() |

Hey all, I am Neix, if any of you are from the ancient(and dead) Homeworld Universe(HWU) forums and such, you will remember me as Blockade runner. Anyways, I discovered PDS, and it was everything I've wanted from Homeworld. The system is great, it is exciting, the games are always refreshing, and it is easy to understand once you read the helpful articles on the site here. I vote this as the best hw2 mod, ever.:thumb: |

hey, my name is not important. HW2 is one of my fav games, i play it to watch the game, too bad no pilot view like the old HW. PDS has inspired me to make my own "Point defence" mods, i made everything low damage but high ROF, extreamly fun. too bad im never a good ship maker, i can only mod .ship.wepn.subs stuff. still an inspiration. |

Hey people, i guess this is the greetings thread ![]() I've been reading through the forums and news and info on the site all day pretty much trying to figure out where things have gone with this mod ![]() I got PDS v6.1 ages ago, before you guys merged I guess. I've been out of touch since then and thought I'd check the mods status today... wow I was surprised just how many things have happened! At the moment though I'm stumped as to which version of what I should be downloading! Theres so much thats changed and so many different versions of the mod and its variations I'm feeling a little confused. Anyway this isn't really the area to be talking about that right now and it's 2:30am so i should be going hehe. As for me, I'm an Aussie... yeah g'day g'day mates lol I will try and figure out where I'm sposed to go from here tomorrow, but from what I've read so far of what you guys are doing/planning to do with the mod - I can't wait to play it! Realistic warfare is what I'd like to see more of in games like Homeworld 2 but alas the fan base for realism is't there... apparantly. OK, I'll stop going off topic yet again lol. So once again, greetings, salutations... G'day! ![]() I shall be seeing you guys around I guess ![]() |

Quote Realistic warfare is what I'd like to see more of in games like Homeworld 2 but alas the fan base for realism is't there... apparantly. You will find that the key to such matters is in how you package the realism. Agreed that however, something like 90% of RTS fans, and indeed the developers of such games, don't seem to realise how limited their gaming platforms are. As all things go in the modern society, talking doesn't work with such a huge population to cover. Leading by example, and the courage to go bulldozering when obstacles appear, however, will work just fine... And with that said I intend PDS-AS to satisfy the naval-simulator fans and of course those who have or are practising the trade of warmasters in life. Everything else is a bonus. If you want accessible gameplay in RTS format, look at earlier PDS versions instead, or wait while I develop a RTS version of AS. Edited by TelQuessir on 27-03-2006 06:11 |
