I know about the red ship, but the concept art looked more like a barge pusher than a resourcerer to me (if only due to the engine exhaust position). After a discussion with Thorin about this, I'm not so sure about it. |

Quote I think that an advert of 7.3.1 is the best we can do at the moment. I think if we advert that we are in the process of trying to build a playable Taiidan fleet we would peek some interest Then let it be so. We'll go to Relicfourms and make an open call to arms for new blood. Who knows, maybe some modelers will offer their services and works. |

People keep joining this forum and downloading the mod. Some of them mod PDS or want to. Even Drthvdr recently joined and posted. So I find your lack of faith... More seriously your planned posting is not likely to produce anything concrete. Let's do things concrete to make this mod evolve and new blood will come naturally. |

THAT Drthvdr? That one who modeled and textured Spectre corvette and Higgy Super Carrier? I always wanted to have those two ships in PDS (especially Carrier replacing HGN SY, or to be a field flagship). EDIT: I think that if adverting in Relic Forums cause few more ppl to log in here, it's worth of try. If those few ppl will like PDs, they will tell about it to thier friend, and they will inform more. Simple avalanche effect. Edited by mrWHO on 31-01-2007 10:49 |

I'm pretty sure that GhostPsalm did the Spectre...or maybe that's a different ship I'm thinking of. I think it would be worth while for an active member of PDS to make a new thread for the 7x series. I don't know if word has gotten out that 7.3.1 is ready for playing. |

In order to end this, I'll wrap up a 7.3.2 with what it is in stock right now. Nothing fancy but with bug fixes and small things added here and there. I'll upload it this week-end and make a post on Tanis. |

Quote So I find your lack of faith... Lack of faith? Try lack of coffee... or too much coffee, I don't know. I have all faith that PDS will survive until summer and beyond, I'll see to that personally. I was just saying that there are several indapendant modelers/texturers who have peaked my intrest who may contribute greatly to the mod. Though even without them, we have a great fanbase and mod team. Given my near total lack of knowing how to mod HW2/PDS, all I can contribute is my opinions, roleplaying abilities, and support to the mod team. Which I will continue to as long as PDS shall live, which it will now and forever. |

It was merely a quote, inspired by the name of the new member. Did you try the dynamic caps test files that I posted? You can contribute to add contents to that part in development. |

Hey, Sun Tzu, could you tell us somethig more about "dynamic unitcaps" ? From what I know, more command ships you have, more warships you can build (kinda liked in HW:C, I liked that system exept that it caplimit was so small that you could have one dreadnought, one/two destroyers and you have to choose to between having few fighters or even less frigates - you could never have proper fleet with everything needed - aka DN,DD, frigates, vettes and fighters in the same time) |

Well it will work roughly the same way, except that the scale and nature of the fleet will be tuned by the priority level assigned to the mission. Space-opera battles will remain possible ![]() |

Just to avoid misunderstandings: I will post a 7.3.2 this week-end with limited novelties and mainly bugfixes, scenarios and small stuff - without dynamic unit caps. The dynamic unit caps script is 90% done but it is only half of what I want to do. The other half requires a lot of contents and some testing. So don't expect it too soon. |

Gents, What I do not want to do is overload those who are actually doing something with a bunch of us 'editorializers' begging and demanding things. It tends to frustrate, trust me I have been here for three years. I want Vanaar's and ITN frigates as bad as anyone, but realize that we have a finite set of folks to do the work. If we get some talent that is great, but having some experiences with simulation, maintaining control of what is going on with the mod can become unbearable if you have four or five elements going at once. I think two is 'sporty' enough'. That is my humble opinion. |

I'm not asking for having ITN as separate side in 7.3.2, nor I'm asking to have INT ships biuldable in any way. What I'm asking is to have as many ITN ships as possible in same way as unfinished BBX is in pre-7.3.2 (I mean hidden in ships folder so anyone would be able to put it in game or for duels just for fun until we'll get more INT in post 7.3.2). |

Well, that is up to 'His Nibs' and Sun Tzu as the two who are actually working the mod. Personally I have no problem with your recommendation, as long as they are accessible only through personal manipulation of the mod. We like to keep quality control up. It took over a year to get the Liir Hra class into the mod. Other ships took about four to six months each. The 'hacks' took much less time (remember when a new flavor Bloodhound showed up every other week!). |
