Unless you count the interim battle-carrier conversion. Might not have a progentech hull but benefited from advancements in systems infrastructure and power distribution. Resulted in a far higher number of energy weapons than other boats. It went out of favour later on for the high cost of such ships and weapons effectiveness related factors in space combat - a single big gun tends to work better (and range further) than 10 smaller ones when beam weapons are involved. Note - only for beam weapons. |

Progenitor systems make a lot of sense in this case, actually. Explains why it's so fast compared to other ships of the same mass. |

This is one reason why the Liir Hra class is such a good raiding platform for the HGN Strkie Task Forces. The energy efficiencies of the ship in both real and hyperspace allows it to strike deep with far less energy requirements. After some of the initial Strike Task Forces (such as Captain Talbock's Strike Task Force Alpha) had been sent out with Fleet Carriers in tow for strike craft support, demonstrated that the Liir Hra could not exploit their "speed" tied to a slow carrier latter missions either have no carriers or smaller strike carriers. |

... or if you went V7.6 - V9 style, using the LH platform itself as a light carrier. Or even a half-assed carrier armed with one-way attack drones. Does the same offensive role as a CVL, creating decisive force concentration in a limited area to engage and destroy time-sensitive targets - without the manpower and logistics requirements of a conventional fighter carrier. Sort of similar to Dale Brown's QB-1 and QB-52 airborne drone carriers in the post Air Battle Force novels. |
