Yeah, my Email is still valid, just put "PDS" in title so I could notice that's not spam. |

BTW does missions in scenatio menu have proper team set? mission one should have both Vaygr teams allied. I'm sure mission two have wrong team set, because nearest Vaygr units are hostile (they should be under control of friendly AI) |

This part is work in progress, as mentioned on the screen . Scenario lua are just dummy files for the moment, to avoid crashes. So yes teams are not properly paired yet. I'm finalising scenario 1 for the end of this week, with briefing into, scripted reinforcements and randomly-chosen different CPU strategies (that is the hardest part). |

Quote scripted reinforcements For who? Player of AI ? BTW when you will do that please try not to use always the same ships (I mean Higgarans one, they have some Nalthoran and Cush ships too), also it wold be nice if carrier jump in it shouldn't be empty but have it's fighter compliment docked. BTW2 do you plan to put more ships into first era (aka those Cush third era ships that are ready and those upcoming Taiidan ships)? |

I didn't see this mentioned elsewhere, but I noticed a minor graphical bug with the Hiigaran Avenger IVA build menu image. As seen in the pic, there are four Avengers per squadron, yet the menu image lists three... Certainly nothing game-stopping, but it is a bit misleading at times. ![]() |

Random letters bug always exists if you try to cram in too much letters into the in-game build menu's ship summaries. May be related. |

mrWho: Scripted reinforcements for the player. The idea for SP conversion of scenarios is to make them wargame like, where you have to deal with a situation with given means. They remain playable in multiplayer for more options. For the existing scenarios, I would stick to the regular HGN ships. Nothing prevents from adding new scenarios with different fleets, provided that you don't build anything (in SP the player is of the default 1st race, which means that you can't have a say IVF player building anything, which is the reason why scenario 2 cannot be put in there). We could put your Rise of Nation map into that scenario 2 slot, with the convoy moving across the map. 75% of the job is already done. As for the FoC ships retrofitted to 7.3, I am afraid it would not be before long, unless somebody helps doing that. A larger plan could be to have distinct ship ranges between HCN components (regular HGN, HGNS, FoC, auxiliary forces such as KVDF or Nalthor crews), with distinct caps and costs for more options. But that's a lot of work. Eightball: Thank you for pointing this. This error is a real lapsus: those avenger squadrons are so powerful I unconscioulsy reduced them. It will be fixed. Tel: Thanks for the tip. It should be the same because both ship descriptions and level descriptions are "textlabels" in the ui. Edited by Sun Tzu on 22-06-2006 13:24 |

SunTzu - note that I'm not going to change anything you've done, you're entitled to enjoy the fruits of your labour ![]() That means the construction of new ship variants may proceed independently for V7.3, with you acting as the judge as to whether the new stuff affects the balancing too much. In particular, you can create strategic missile ships, escort battlecruisers, sub-capital carriers etc etc like I've done in the newer releases. The QJE hull should be exploited fully as well since her design team created the ship as a multi-mission platform. Its present battlecruiser configuration can be modified for fleet carrier, battleship, arsenal etc variants. |

When I go to Filefront, there are several diffrent files labeled pds730, mostly .RAR or listed as debug files. Which one do I pick? |

 there is only one file and it is on top of the list. Here is the link (to copy-paste, because the url tags don't work when there is a ';' char in the address): http://files.filefront.com/PDS_v730rar/;5168541;;/fileinfo.html |

It works! You're a freakin genius! I take back all the bad things i've ever said about France. Formerly all I thought france was good for was the FAMAS and everything edible. But now that's all changed! For you're exellance in this endevour, I present you with the first ever Gordan Freeman award for really hard stuff that I can't understand... ...Or I would if such a thing existed, but still. Thank you.:thumb: |

Hows it going everyone. I've been playing the pds mod for a while now. The fighter balancing in v8.0 is spiffy and i'm definately getting that download. My question is whether or not I should get v7.3 first. To clarify my question; should i install v8.0 over v7.0 or v7.3? ![]() USMC Pilot candidate |

The numbers are a bit misleading due to simultaneous projects going on. Currently there are 3 different versions of the mod. Don't mix the files or the game will crash!! They are: - 7.3.0 (the old skool version - download link in this thread) - 7.6 (pushes HW2 engine to its limits - download link in Tel's storage space on FileFront, see his welcome post) - 9 alpha (synthesis between classic gameplay and experiments - download links in this thread: http://www.pds.homeworldaccess.net/fo...ead_id=627 |

Remember they are totally separate - I haven't had the luxury of packing them into nice installers or .big files. There is now a fourth "PDS based" mod called Warlords Evolution: http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=96395&page=4&pp=15 |

I've been testing out the different versions last night. I think I'll stick to v7.3 for now. v7.6 is a great version on its own rights but i like to micromanage my ships to the highest possible extent. Awesome mod all around but i would like to point out this one thing that nags me while i'm playing v7.3. The fighters and bombers seem to be a tad too resistant to weapons fire. A Blade vs an enemy bomber/fighter for example. That laser/ion beams the interceptors shoot should be able to absolutely wreck an enemy bomber/fighter. Same with the missiles. Not really a problem. Its just that it sticks out a bit because the rest of the mod is almost perfect :thumb:. Its just one thing to look over since you guys are going for a high amount of 'realism'. Keep up the good work! ![]() USMC Pilot candidate |
