If your gona go down the classical rout them it's got to be something like Mars by Holst (as has already been suggested) or Ride of the Valkyries by Wagner. There was talk of song/music for war film or about so what about Warriors of the world Unite by Manowar its kinda cheesy but kinda cool Personally I?d say stick with t rock/metal idea A few suggestions Sleep now in the fire, Rage against the machine Adios, Rammstein The Game, Disturbed The Kinslayer, Nightwish Just an idea the problem isn't that people are breeding like rabbits, its that we're not dying like flys

Personal suggestion: The mark has been made - NIN Instrumental, not too agressive, powerful, hypnotic, sort of ideal for a trailer. |

HomeBoy - awesome track. I'll likely use that one in the end but its quite challenging to find footage to match the music. |

Homeboy - that track is great and I agree with Tel it would have to be one hell of light show going on match the music, though i'm sure he'll do it.
I feel like a one legged man in an ASS kickin' contest!

I hope it still isnt too late, but someone else mentioned adagio for strings and how it was too slow to be suited for a PDS battle. May I suggest Adagio For Strings by Dj Tiesto. It maintains all of the dramatic tone and emotion from the standard version but puts it to a well chosen techno beat which could work very well with a space combat situation. The particular version that I have is about 7:30 mins long and can be found on nearly any file sharing program as tiesto is a rather popular artist. So it shouldnt be too difficult to locate it, however I could provide the mp3 if anyone really needs it. Navaras is a great high energy battle song, however Adagio is more of a tragic piece that would fit well with a higgaran fleet being slowly wiped out. EDIT: Just a note, I found that the song used for the 6.0 trailer was really well suited, the simple softness of it gave the impression that you were watching some ancient battle that had been long forgotten. The well thought out combination of the brutality of combat with the innocence provided by the singer and the music itself created a contrast that ended up working very well together. Also, Ive been trying to find that song but have since been unable. I think its titled Fairy Tales by Alissa Sears but that has turned up nothing. EDIT: After listening to "The Unsung War" I must say that it should be taken into serious consideration. Edited by Dramicus on 18-09-2005 00:03 |

The Siren's heavy rock base and chilling vocals would be really great for really large capital ships. Not so fitting IMO for strike craft... its too... dominating for strike craft... just my 2 cents... BTW awesome song... MUST FIND!!!!! |

Bought a Rammstein CD - if anyone got an mp3 for the "Feuer Frei" track, it would be appreciated. My CD is awesome enough but I'd like the FF track for something else.

If you like Rammstein, Tel, you should check out the track "Mein Herz Brennt" or "Sonne" and theres always "Adios"

The final music selection might be - some epic anime or classical for the intro phase - "Feuer Frei" for the main action phase - anime or classical for resolution IMO this would give a better presentation than just using one soundtrack, and the transitions so that viewers are not immediately thrown into the action phase music without first giving them a proper introduction to the content. It's kind of cliche, but "Reqiuem for a Dream" can go with pretty much anything (in my own opinion). |
