Battlestar Crews
Inert
Karen Sjet was permanently attached to the mothership for the duration of the Exodus War. After that she was removed, the mothership being a new scaffold with a skeleton crew of 8000 engineers and provides living space/quarters for them.

There is no harm in neurobiologic connections other then that fact that it was completely new at the time.

I was just thining that karen is very different from both makaan and the emperor. Her responsibilities lie only in each mothership. Makaan could have a more broad over look of events.

If you want a broad overlook of an empire you can simply look on a map. Wink

Mostly harmless
Maybe if your just watching but if actually running an galatic empire? Govenments have trouble running a large country so what of a dictator on a war footing, expanding and holding ever increasing territory. Dictitors always have that paraniod streak as well. A tight grip maybe needed.

One piece of feedback on the requirement of this much processing power for a ship, even a large one: Piss-poor systems infrastructure requiring constant micromanagement.

I am saying that if you are even able to build a ship that large and coordinate the effort to a successful conclusion, it should have an onboard personnel and systems structure no more complicated than a Nimitz class CVN today.

As for proliferation of neural control devices today, open for discussion.

My take is that we scrap the total immersion thing, but look at it as an extension of fly by wire technology. A computer takes impulses from a person's thoughts, translates that to machine functions - so weapons activation and target acquisition might be an operator merely thinking "Primary weapons group to Track 5200".

If we follow along the lines that Tel said, I guess the primary squadron leaders of drone fighters could be controlled in a similiar method, as opposed to TV-screens, joysticks, and lag, like a computer flight-sim. Might the neural links be able to project images to the connected one's mind? This could possibly work for tactical and sensor officers, as it eases needing to crossreference between several screens at once, and speeds up orders.

I figured this might be the place to ask this since it is in relation to the H's Battlestars. How exactly can you build those or get them? I haven't been able to find them anywhere in the build list. However, in the "Data" folder I found their files, so I think I'm just missing something.

I would like people to stop making a fool out of themselves by asking for the hugest, most impractical battleships. Instead, start to look at factors other than raw size and firepower.

Phoenix
How about the battlestar as a unit to be used in special scenarios, though the supermonitor is more than sufficient, as its backstory lends itself to a good scenario...
