Briefing on LiirHra Block 16 refit
yasotay
I would think that a ship with as much 'flat' area as the LiirHra would have ample PDL. As we progress toward the next Block version I would think that the Fleet(s) would send back to the FDB a very real desire for PDL at the end of the S/HWW (Sensor/Hyperspace Waveform Wing) as these porvide exceedingly good locations for PDS. This might require development of wingtip sponsons to house the weapons, if there is not adequate room within the wings themselves for the channels for the weapons. Of course if this engineering effects the sensor performance and/or the hyperspace capability of the ship the FDB would have to articulate to the Fleet(s) that the technical feasibility of the concept is unsound given the engineering technology at the time...

Not that I have had to deal with anything like this before...Wink

My issue with packing in the HVRs is the inveitable question of how so much explosive ordnance will effect the ship's surviveability in battle, let alone its requirement for resupply from fleet colliers for resupply.
I'd put my vote in for the pulsar loadout; despite the increased requirement for technical support, power consumption and target/tracking computer time I feel they offer qualities that tie in with my school of thought.

The Block 16 Project turned out to be a bit more than I bargained for. After creating the new hardpoints, I will send it the partially completed hod to Tel for proper orientation. Estimated time of handoff is in the next two days.

EDIT: After which, I will do the Bloodhound 3.

@C/FDB or like the wingtip pods on Dutch AH-64D... or the ES-3A Electronic Viking. Now I do not know if you would have them on all four, but the larger rear set might be stressed for the extra mass. If the Block 16 design team is unable to work the pods the ship will certainly still work fine. Perhaps a later block upgrade.
