What is the name of the movie? I've heard the name O'neill cylinder before but it slipped my mind when I was talking about it. As for the "universe propulsion" I have read in several articles that say that the ability to create "designer universes" should be a relatively commonplace physics experiment inside of 20 years. When they are called designer universes, it is not meant that you could make a copy of ours except have the version of you that is rich and successful. What is meant is that you can create a universe where you have chosen the laws of physics. That whole thing that I mentioned with with the universe expanding before splitting off is what is actually thought to be what would occur, though on the order of a few nanoseconds from creation to separation. |

Rendevous with Rama has a film? I read the book way back when I was in junior school and was fascinated by the mystery of it. I didn't know mum had such good taste xd |

Ya know, I believe that hyperspace inhibitors are completely obsurd, In a true theoretical sense, the only inhibitor would be to move a large gravitational object incredibly close to the ships point of origin, The other variable.. is the hardest to measure, What is "hyperspace" What properties does it have, how does one "Enter" hyperspace.. Is it an actual dimension? is it, like in starwars, another speed barrier to be broken? A. If it is like Star-trek and or star-wars, The gravitational pull of a super dense object, IE small moon/planet/stars, Would contribute a huge role.. To Warp in, you'd have to stay a distance away from these bodies as they, as gravity does, bend light and magnetic forces to an extent, so you may... destabilize.. that's not good. B. If it is some sort of "hyperspace other dimension" The only method I could think of, well two, Is either, Blow up their Hyperspace creation device.. "See BSG Resurrection ship" A very well portioned and accurate way of stopping such a force.. Or, the much harder one, To somehow get close enough to "Close" the gate by using the same technology you'd close your own with. But that'd require a very close distance.. Gravity wells wouldn't work, as... it is obviously possibly for Vaygr ships to Hyperspace into the hiigaran system, obviously gravity doesn't make THAT big of a difference.. There's my fourty-two cents.. hope it is helpful I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last... the beginning and your end.
