There is something wrond with Vay frigates Ion cannons(those red).
They are visible from long rande, but when I zoom IN the disappear, I guess that something with LOD.

QJE production icon is tottalu blank while it's normal (when selected) icon is fine.

I can't seem to play the single player campaign... every time i click single player it boots me back to windows

I've noticed the ion problem as well as the QJE icon.

For the QJE icon, when you selected the ship alone, you see it, but in a group or from the build menu it's blank.

Not having the SP problem.

I have the Single Player problem as well. It's rather... annoying.

After certain capships are 'destroyed' (lose all armour points) they.. well, they don't die for me. Notably Al-K's and QJE's, though some cruisers do the same.
They remain stationary and continue firing for anywhere up to 30 seconds after 'dieing'.
When this occurs during an AI/AI battle, the attacking AI will simply ignore the 'dead' ship, and often I've seen a task force chipped away by a 'dead' BV today.

Error: LoadLevelData: Trying load mission 15. There is only 5 missions -- FATAL EXIT -- campaign/398:! --stack trace--

There ya go! That's the culprit. Glad I'm not the only one with the single player problem.

I think they're supposed to do that. I often see secondary detonations on those ships as they start to die.
If the fireball can't be seen from orbit you obviously aren't trying hard enough.

There is no 'overkill' only 'open fire' and 'I need to reload'. -Schlock Mercenary

The main problem here is that an exploding ammunition cache or the rupturing of a magnetic fusion bottle would be catastrophic, and blow the darn thing to pieces.

I have to say, though, I like it the way it is.

I like that as well. Now the large ships go down with a fight, crews hurrying to the escape pods, madness taking place and somewhere in this drifting and burning hulk someone just gives up. It fits well to a story that was posted in the rp-board on the last site. One could also use his imagination and think the ship is covering the retreat of the rest the fleet because the drive systems have a critical failure. Overall it adds to the drama and tactics as well, therefore it's a wonderfull idea.

Edit to stay on-topic:

More than once I have witnessed strikecraft flying into ships attacked by them. Another problem was when I send eight squadrons of the LSF II to attack weapons on an Al-Khalid. They build a bubble around the subsystem, stopped moving and didn't fire anymore. When I gave order to attack the ship as a whole they behaved normal. I see that happening when they attacked the engines of this Monster.

Consider the point at which a capship "dies" to be the destruction of the bridge.

Great Mod!

For me, the main thing bugging my head is the lack of engine trails...pretty much every strikecraft in the game has this problem for me. There is a certain "zoom hotspot" where if I zoom in to a certain distance, I can see them. I never had this problem before in 6.1 or any other Mod.

I love playing the single player missions. They have been working fine for me, apart from at the end of the 1st mission where there was no option to continue to the next mission.

The thing that bugs me, and I know that it was in the previous versions, is that the in-game movies start chugging away if there is too much happening. You can't skip them either. Is there anything you can do about that?

Glacialis
Hit escape to skip the in-game movies.

Vulnerable bridges do not exist in the PDSverse, as since WW2 something called the CIC was invented Pfft

As for us having only 5 SP missions. Correct. Short and sweet, the campaign ends with the completion of a deep-strike operation against a Vagyr fleet logistics base and its guardian cruiser squadron.

Glacialis
Bridge/CIC: Bah! When the ship has sustained too much superstructure damage to stay together, and power generation systems (the most armored) start to break apart with the rest of the hull, poof -- dying ships that you can't control.

SP missions: I've been testing it in skirmish so I never noticed. That saddens me, but if the SP mission can't be balanced with PDS7 then I guess it can't :-/.

Cut the sadistic replies.

The reason why the rest of the SP missions is removed is that they do not conform to requirements of tactical battle presentation for scenarios - fleet engagements or fighting Ancient technology are never in the scope of PDS.

The exact changes, and the reasons for the more controversial points of evolution - ie, cutting the SP campaign, removal of engine trails etc, will be documented in due time.

A problem I had was that when I build the Hiigaran Siege Cruiser (The 8000 RU one... can't remember the name right now) There was no base model.... you just saw the gun turrets/subsystems floating in space around an invisible hull...

Mostly harmless
Had the no single player problem too. Not a fresh install for me. Deleted the profiles1 folder in profiles and problem solved. Noticed the Al-Mou'akar doesn't have a low lod?

TelQuessir
Right. Either delete profiles folder or do a reinstall otherwise SP stability may be compromised. Don't even think of loading old savegame files, they will not work.

Little things I have noticed as this is a bug thread (some of these may not be bugs, but I will mention them anyway.

*one of the shamshir (SRM) variants is no longer buildable (intended?)

*vaygr's light attack corvettes have more hitpoints than sloops and shamshirs? (much more capable as well Smile

*the falika (sp?) light corvettes dont use their ICA's against capital targets or am i missing something?

*the ion cannons on the heavy frigate and and vaygr dd seem to fire from hardpoints that appear to be in space around the frigate rather than ON the hull . . . is this normal or is my install a litte skewed?
He whoms hand pimps what is . . .
