I can't play it right now, though I can look into the LUA script files remotely and nod in appreciation. Get v7. Play it. What are your first impressions? |

Weeellll, let me be more specific . What did you immediately notice was different? What did you like? It's the specific things, maybe somethin big, maybe the little touches, that have always made this mod different. What's your favorite thing so far? |

First thing I noticed was that combat got visually more impressive, I just see ion beams everywhere. I like all the new fancy toys we get to play with, the QJE and Lavi corvette/frigate for example. Both are beautiful, yet deadly (and armed to the teeth) What I also like is the vaygyr campaign, it's interesting to play with such limited un-reinforcable forces, compared to the huge fleets one usually commands around. But the detail I like the most is those big, oversized quad 400mm autocannon turrets. <3 big guns |

hmm i like the lavis but my lothrengrens are gone. i miss them. those are my work horse i duno about the twalers(destroyer), they dont seem to have the punch. the cap ships do seem to live past there death, a lot longer thats intersting but wow does it take forever them to die. lost my bc to a carrier that went nontargetable and had no health. it looked dead but didnt go boom. i do so like the new cruiser the multi ion gun version, and the fact that you can see the missles. i thought they were mines though so i started trying laying mines with corvetes. EDIT: i duno about the bc limit now though with all the new bc class ships Dont get me wrong i like the upgrade love the missle battles and the fighters are great now Edited by Zane on 03-10-2005 16:05 Attention higarian command. The thing I like most about it is the icons marking missiles strangely enough. |

I, too, noticed that the Cazador seems to have taken a liking to decaf. I think I just need a better handle on how to use them. The first thing I noticed were the Lavi. How could I not, when you start with a wing of them? ![]() I also noticed the lovely new looks for the LH25 and the ICAs. Looks great, and has a better feeling now. One thing I didn't like was the fact that the Vaygr have more battlecarriers it can deploy simultaneously, and that there was no increase in the number of light cruisers you can employ. EDIT: Uh...is anybody else CTD if they select Single Player? Edited by Thorin on 03-10-2005 16:45 |

I have it installed but haven't played yet. One question I did have though is that I installed right over what was there. Is that alright or should I have installed over a clean install of HW2??

I would do it over a clean install of HW2. If you had a previous version of PDS, there's a chance things could be messed up. For this reason, I always recommend making a backup copy of your DATA folder. If you're comfortable moving files around, take the .BIG files and move them to whatever folder you want to make active, and then rename that your DATA folder. Easy peasy. ![]() |

My first Impressions: "WHAT they did to my game...Fucking amazing !!!" I said that after I saw missile crossfire between Deliverance and 3 Kaghans + 4 missile platforms (greate idea with those cross on missile). I almost feel like XVII century captain: READY !!! ALL BATTERIES-FIRE, FIRE, FIRE !!! RELOAD !!! (missile flying everywhere). Edit: I forgot to mention QJE spaming red beams of Death at all directions .Edit2: After battle dust fall I must say that Vaygr AI is still less agresive than HGN AI .Edit: I tested that Again, Vay AI is fine on small maps, but stupid on bigger maps (while HGN AI works fine for both). Edit3: That new Vay corvette is still a greate unknown to me. When I first saw it I thought "WTF, a Knife to Ice ?? ". I must test it later, maybe it's my future favorite CT. Edit4: Escort Carrier- a ship of my dreams. I always use one Imperator IV for frigate production while rest of Carriers are useless to me. I alway wanted to have a fast, cheap, frontline support carrier. Now I'm happy. Edited by mrWHO on 03-10-2005 17:49 |

It worked for me perfectly when I installed it over PDS v6.1. ![]() No CTD's when starting SP. And those vaygyr corvettes... Failakas are crazy, work wonders against anything. One thing that bugs me... where are my engine trails? O_o |

Engine trails: Please post on what ships have them and what ones don't. I would again recommend a clean data directory for testing purposes. That's fixed it in the past. |

The new Cezador DD is wonderful pursuit ship...for AI. I lost 2x Escort Carriers, 1x Imperator IV, 1x Arbiter CF, few frigates due to the introduction of those ships, if the would not be DD in range, all of those ship would perform a succesful retreat. Edit: I must also admit that HGN AI, use combine arms tactic quite good. IT launch frigate attack(with Cezador group acting independently) with SC cover then it send Arbiter Cruisers with Carriers. If you don't wath you back, then it will hyper in a Deliverance to finish the job. Edited by mrWHO on 03-10-2005 20:05 |

I love the Deliverance.. nimble, powerful, and nice to look at. I also love the new missile icons not to mention the new munitions.. I never managed to amass that many bombers in 6.1 but it was great watching a carrier's PD utterly fail it under the veritable storm of warheads 8 bomber squadrons can salvo.. then annihilating it on the second pass. If the fireball can't be seen from orbit you obviously aren't trying hard enough.
There is no 'overkill' only 'open fire' and 'I need to reload'. -Schlock Mercenary |

i just cant get Cezador DD to fight other ships effectivly. ive tried multiple tactics, its just not as effective as a lothrigren. maybe its not defending it self as well, or the main gun dosent have the punch i duno. it looks more like its setup to kill fighters, more than other ships of its size, or bigger. if there are any sudjestions twards my using them diffrently, or anything to explain how to use them would be good. but i just plain miss the lothrigrens EDIT: ack forgot any kind of puncuation and spacing. Lack of engine trails. I deliberately removed them as they are unrealistic from the realism standpoint. SP campaign crashing - start from M01, try doing a full install for HW2 + PDS. Or try deleting the Profiles folder. Edited by TelQuessir on 04-10-2005 04:20 |

I do like the fact that things are more long lived. I'm talking more about from strikecrafts to frigates really. before it felt that some untils just disappeared if you left them even a moment. Although i still loved it i now love it more. Also found that that the heavy capital ships seem to get left behind more. Not really needed for large chunks of combat. |

I found the up-gunning and armouring of the Arcadia to be a pleasant surprise. And the Lavii is a lovely little killer, especially when used in conjunction with the Kopesh. I did a clean instal of HW2 and PDS 7.0 after defragging the drive, and have had no problems thus far. Mission Three start was a bit of a shock, but I won't be a spoiler here...You'll just have to find out for yourself. Thanks, again, to all brought this to fruition.
