Information: - A Gallery CMS has been uploaded and configured for PDS and others to use. - http://www.hwshots.homeworldtrinity.org/ Features: - Permissions and User Groups is highly customizeable. - Every User gets own album per default - High quality image handling and viewing. - Short Url scripting for easy linking - more, much more... Recommendations: - Use it as resource and storage. - For internal PDS work, consider access rights and grouping (Tel'Quessir firstly but we might apoint more Gallery Admins if needed...) Flaws: - Requires separate user/login information. Intentions: - Show all Concept Art, many Screenshots and most WIP - Become a natural, controlled, resource for all Homeworld Fans - PDS, and perhaps other Mods, Showcase. Notes: - This is Gallery 2 software, from http://gallery-tmp.menalto.com/ - The former PDS site uses Gallery 1.4.4, we have a learning curve here that might lead to mistakes and misconfigurations, but eventually all will be right. - We will not attempt any integration with this site. - 56K-users: Patience might be necessary. Update: - Figured out the commenting system. Until permissions revised, all users can post comments, and it is done via link below every single picture. |

Ehm, good. Remember to make use of Your Album for personalized pics. That is what it is there for, and in the place I put it. Sub-albums for PDS should be named giving a hint as to what they are about. IMO. Preferently not "Donalds Pics". I do not know what Tel'Quessir might say about that, but it is my opinion. The access rights are a bit tedious since they can be controlled down to every single image, if I understand it right. As I said, well get it right, but make sure to restrict access to images You dont want public. Yet. Like Beta 7 imagery. On a sidenote: This is posted here, and NOT in Site CMS issues, because: It is not about this sites CMS issues...

Are any images from the old PDS galleries on the original site going to be transferred over? I'm not necessarily talking about the whole crapload of user-uploaded pics, but more of the developmental ones of the previous versions of PDS. It's nice to see a history lesson on the mod's growth over time. |

I am sure it is a good idea, but I guess Tel'Quessir should give it a "go ahead" first. Furthermore, I think only 3-4 persons can decide on which images (WIP and Production Work) to be transferred. |

Update: I have changed the view order of the albums on the frontpage. They will from now on reflect usage/updated items. This is relevant for albums on frontpage only. Reason, to encourage a higher listing by trigging activity in "your" album. This has rarely been a problem with PDS/NGCS since pics gets posted often. It affects all subalbums as well since they inherit those settings. More like this. :smash: I also edited my links above to reflect the current location of the Gallery, which changed a while ago. And i forgot...
