I'm tossing in VAs files from two volunteers (one of them Inert) in v7.0, and I decided to contribute a bit just for kicks: http://www.pds.homeworldaccess.net/st...PDSVA3.zip Comments etc welcome - and if you want to do better than the existing VAs submit your own

"MOMMY!" This is not a one-word post, BTW. I just got a new headset, with a microphone - I'll be able to help out too. |

I didn't want to say anything but Tel does sound like a german commander. In a good way though. |

I didnt really hear anyone who sounded alot like a German commander, to me almost every clip sounded like a Japanese commander... ![]() I could do some voice acting as well, I can speak with a British, American or German accent and I am somewhat successful at producing a Japanese accent as well as French and pakastani (lol) I just need to buy a new mic as Ive had my current one for far too long. (it achieves the effect of radio disturbance without any sound editing... ) |

Tel sounds like a Russian commander. And I got a(nother) new headset (other one broke - someone clipped me with the boom mike open) so I can do more recording work. w00t? |

Please note that I have removed any and all unprofessional and/or defeatist clips from the v5-6 VA pack. Posting what I have in-game in about one hour. Regarding user-end contributions - "could do" is an unacceptable statement. I don't have 120+ VA clips in the new package from hearing "could do" from anyone. |

"could do" was stated due to the fact that it was realized that the team most likely did not need some random outsider submitting what could possibly be sub-standard work. I said could do because I didnt want to intrude with a statement like "You guys really need to have me voice acting in your mod" but since you have so clearly stated you dont need anyone who "could do" anything so you dont need to worry about recieving any crapy sub-standard sound clips from me as I know you would not want to waste time sifting through anything that i "could do". "The warrior who acts out of honour cannot fail. His duty is honour itself. Even his death - if it is honourable - is a reward and can be no failure, for it has come through duty. Seek honour as you act, therefore, and you will know no fear." - Robute Gui

On a side note I'm also open to receiving French, German, Spanish etc voice clips. If you've tried the new VA, you'll see that listening to what is said is secondary in all the background radio chatter when brown stuff hit the rotating object. |

XD~!!! I can help with Spanish, IF I have a script (which I'm working on) - disastrous attempt when I winged (wung?) it in class the other day for school work. If you give me the romanji, I can do Japanese... Omae o korosu ? Vaygr no kuzu! |

I've prepared a selection of clips for the Arbiter Fleet Cruiser; I was planning on warping them with CoolEdit Pro to get that 'battle static' sound. Assuming I'm not too shattered tomorrow morning, I'll upload them for your listening pleasure. EDIT: I should have around 25+ samples recorded, so you can pick and choose the ones you like Edited by Methuselah on 19-09-2005 19:59 |

Suggestion for voice acting (only a suggestion, don't hurt me! )May I point out that after downloading the voice pack, it is very wierd that I hear someone's voice and then some completely other random voice (that is somewhat more... higher, if that is the correct term) and then a third random voice for one single interceptor squadron. Perhaps we could slowly shift towards pippy higher voices for fighters and low, more commanding voices for carriers. Logically it makes sense but I know the work involved here and the hours of listening to voices. It'd be nice, but the overall contribution it makes is more or less, naught. Just like to get it out in the open. Nevertheless, it is fun, at the least, to hear new voices. It's kind of like getting a new toy and figuring out all its functions. ![]() |
