 Board Game?

I'm thinking that PDS could translate really well into a board game, so I've started to draft some rules. There are two issues: 1. You keep making new versions and out-dating the old ships... So I don't know which ships to use. 2. I'm unsure of the armaments for most of the ships. I don't trust the ship descriptions, and when i looked in the files i had a difficult time trying to figure out which weapon is which (ion? gun? missile?). Any help/suggestions/questions/comments/spam/corned beef? mmm im hungry... :muffy: |

I tried this a few months back, and as I recall, I got a 'meh' and I agree that if it were to be done, 7.2 would be the way to go (for playability's sake.) "Normal" (read: warhammer players) gamers don't like 3d movement with newtonian physics. The introduction of higher than 3rd grade math gives them aneurysms. 'most' (read: Tel) would rather play the mod than play a tabletop based off of it. (No offense, Tel, but you were the only one to respond to my thread, and I vaguely recall that being one of your arguments) If, however, I grow sufficiently bored, I'm going to tinker with the Jovian Chronicles tabletop rules to provide allowances for PDS vessels. |

I would like to play with the board game to introduce random members of my RL entourage to PDS XD LOL, did I shrug you off last time you tried that? Well, show me what you got! |

I wouldn't say you shrugged me off. You just seemed to think no one would be interested. Got nothing *yet*, but I'm thinking about working up a design sometime within the next week. Of course, I'm nowhere near foolish enough to build a game from scratch, I'd use an existing game as my basis. More information at some point, assuming I don't get distracted. |
