Many people would call this a Liir-Hra light cruiser. I call it ambition personified. Supported by only a single wing of Irrish-Shel, guess which vessel lived to tell the tale? It's a testament to the PDS team and those who have helped them with AI programming that the LH took out both of their engines, then proceeded to slice them into to scrap. Those new broadside ions are indeed useful. Edited by Glacialis on 07-10-2005 03:03 |

EDIT: Oh, very nice indeed ![]() Kind of surprising that the light cruiser could pull that off. I do love those broadsides. Edited by Thorin on 07-10-2005 03:05 |

I do love those things, they exemplify ass kicking and strategic operations. |

Hmph. I did not even test the modernised Block 15 cruisers before deploying them! FYI - AI programming = me. You dare discredit...? :whip: The LH was "smart" enough to take out the carrier's drives as the ion cannons are set not to target capital ship hulls. The full Block 16 refit showcased in the dev. board will be constructed by Thorin. |

I had this lirha that went into battle on a search and destroy where it engaged the bulk of the enemy fleet, got its ass kicked, so i hypered it to the middle of the map to run to base on sublight. Then they followed, so it was the lirha that was in the red, 2 frigs, and a frighter squad or two, against a fleet of at least 8 frigs and fighter/corvette escorts. the lirha, damaged, just offered fire support as my shipyard and carriers offered forward fire along with my 2 frigs and 2 fighter squads. then the lirha decided that a little damage is nothing, charges the frigs, scatteres them like a hornets nest, then picks them all off one by one like a hot knife through butter. in the end of it all, it came out of the mess of flying frigate pieces with more health than it started with. I like to use them for dangerous special ops where only a fast ship with good ai and guns can survive on its own, like surprise death of resorucers. |
