I wanted to see how many people use this tactic - the PAUSE BUTTON I use the pause button as a tactic (also to get a bite to eat /refreshments too lol ) playing the game. when in pause mode : you can make critical strategies at a 'turn based way' -minimizing ship/unit loss & mobilizing your fleet ship to ship at a more managable way! I found it really valuable to use the PAUSE BUTTON' when I get my fleet into a traffic-jam with the enemy or when lag kicks in for any reason.

I don't use it. It's far better to RP the chaos and confusion of battle, where even the most highly trained battle staff inevitably loses track of some elements. It's also a great representation of electronic warfare and Murphy's laws - you can't do everything perfectly.

This will be up to player preference, in conclusion. By the way, if you in the community want to ensure that these small tips get their proper place on the website, use the "Submit Article" link on the navigation panel on the left hand side. |

While I use the pause button to amnage the fleet I, more often, use it to mine for screen-shots.

In order to submit articles, containing all kinds of tips, 15 lines of text might be an acceptable minimum, we have to create some categories first. The "Pause" strategy, or how it should be called, might fit in nicely in a category called PDS Game Play Strategies or something similar. Opinions? The more we document from personal experience, the easier for newcomers to dig deep in to PDS Edited by Homdax on 29-09-2005 18:40 |

Hahaha........ good old Pause. Have to use that in heavy missions are times. (more so because of lag and not being able to select units properly) Also good at keeping the Aux Carrier from making stupid moves. That thing litterally has a mind of it's own and doesn't know when enough is enough. -Fear the Might of the Imperial Cortharian Fleet

while we are on personal tactics, how does everyone group their strikecraft? I personally use 4 LSF, 3 Kopesh, 2 drones, and a bloodhound for groups 1 and 2. group 3 consists of a wolfpack of frigates mixed and matched for the current task. Group 4 consists of my line ships What do some other people use to group ships? |
