I'm interested in playing PDS against a people rather than my computer. I've had a few games of HW2 with other mods, like Freespace: A New Era, and Warlords. I think this game becoming exponentionally more brilliant against people, with a real implementation of tacts and strategy, rather than the repeating AI action of 'march in column straight at me and get wasted'. Is there someone out there who can help me out? I'd really appreciate it. Dojoyoda The House of Dojoyoda: Where all things meet their opposites.

Quote rather than the repeating AI action of 'march in column straight at me and get wasted' Then it is YOUR responsibility to make your own challenge - multiplayer is just one of them and one reason PDS MP is not well proliferated is the network requirements. Anything other than a LAN is going to be tough unless you keep it small. |

A PDS game is fun at lan parties, though I'm always the person introducing PDS to everyone else. Some sort of PDS connection might be useful to get fans close in proximity to each other that never knew it to hook up for lan parties. I remember one site I was a member of automatically pinned their location to world map if they filled in a city and state/country in their profile. People who just put country down were included in the global count for that area. Or something like that. IIRC if was a KOF fan site. Edited by zenprime on 26-09-2005 09:13 ![]() ![]() Bring it on. Thank you guys. Though Tacoma is no where near Adelaide . My only other solution that came about has been Himachi. From what I've been told, it tricks the system into thinking computers are part of a network. It seems to work well with FSNA but I don't know if it would handle the ridiculous amount of shooting in PDS. If I come across something better in my search, I'll be sure to inform. Thanks again. I don't think it's a matter of tricking the system, since HW2 supports multiplayer in a variety of ways. The issue is the amount of stuff flying around, and the corresponding network traffic it generates. |

I think that as long as you are all working the same version of HW2 and PDS, long haul 2 player MP is feasible. Going to three may be a bit much. If you 'dummy down' the settings for the graphics (NLIPS off, etc.) you also get a better effort. Of course this is coming from someone who professes to be a computer rock. ![]() |

I think it is safe to assume that multiplayer dueling or individual carrier battles are viable. One ship won't generate more firepower than an entire fleet in stock HW2 ![]() |
