Hey guys I was wondering what your build order usually is in a game? What kind of strategies you use and such for a pVp or p VS CPU game. I usually only play vaygr (although I think the Higs are awesome in 11.8, i love the balance that is finally there between the two.) and will start out basically maxing out my resource collectors and building three refineries so i can move all carriers and the cityship away, towards the enemy while i build. as the resource collectors are finishing up in the first couple minutes of the game i have the queen of the damned start building a couple bombers and some cheap fighters (the I-2's?) the Kaghan i have building shamshirs (escorts or assault with either a command vet or EW shamshir thrown in) and the cityshop i have pouring out missile frigates, which i find very effective when supported with some fighters and vets to take the heat off. this is all done en route to the enemy. i also deploy my little static defense turret things as close to where I anticipate the main battle to take place. at that point i am usually heavily engaged by the enemy and i spend my time repairing or rebuilding fighters t cover the frigates as they pound away at whatever the higs bring at me. this is very effective against one opponent on expert, on just about any size map but i havn't gotten it to work with two opponents on expert. haha i just wanted to see what kind of build orders and basic strat's you guys use. also as a side note, in reference to the old thread about the battle barge being too strong, i didn't have an overly hard time beating it as the Higs. I just build a half dozen torpedo frigates, some heavy DEW frigates and 2 arbiters. out of curiosity i built the calisto which was vulnerable but i thought it offered and acceptable amount of fire support and regenerated fairly fast. it worked well at the edges of the battle. the majiran wasnt even necessary for the battle barge. i just kept everything moving so it couldn't use its main beam weapons. anyway...how about you guys. |
