Upon closing to full sensor painting range, we discovered that a battle was taking place- a lone Deliverance was facing two Vaygr attack carriers and a Battlecruiser, defended by a number of squadrons of LSF-IIs... we were able to close very close without either side noticing, and were well within weapons range when we transmitted authentication orders for the Deliverance's transponder signals. At this point, the Vaygr noticed our presence, and the Battlecruiser along with a frigate and fighter escort broke off to engage. However, as you are well aware, the Vaygr Battlecruiser is essentially a uni-directional weapons platform, and was sliced clean in two by a fleet wide bombardment before it could even bring its main armaments to bear. Our fighters engaged the Vaygr wings, and I brought the fleet to bear on their carriers. At this point, transponder code verification completed, and the HN Korda, BV-756 was identified. Seeing the superior force in front of them, the two enemy carriers attempted to bug out, but were caught in a cross-fire. I moved the Lycan and Steadfast to attack the nearest, and its engines were disabled before it could escape. As her sister ship escaped, we surrounded the carrier and transmitted a demand for immediate surrender, lingering outside of her weapons range before proceeding. By way of reply, a forlorn salvo of missiles was fired in our direction, running out of manouvring fuel miles in front of us and floating harmlessly past. At this, I decided that no quarter would be given, but before I could give the order to fire, the Korda unleashed a full salvo, moving into weapons range and clearing her fighters for attack runs. I watched as the Vaygr carrier was ripped apart by concussion torpedoes before hailing the captain of the Korda. He explained that he had been part of a reinforcement battlecruiser squadron sent from HQ, but that they had been ambushed near the slipgate by a large taiidani force and seperated. He presumed that the other ships were lost, and with his comms down and only short range sensors operating, decided to move to Admiral Watsas' last known transmission position. Unsurprisingly, he became lost, and it was at this point he stumbled upon a forward Vaygr staging area in the asteroid field. The two Arbiter cruisers that had made up the remains of his squadron had been destroyed when I arrived, and he thanked the matyrs of Kharak for our timely intervention, placing his tattered force under my command.

Subject: Carrier + Battle Barge detected

Location: HN Willamette CVH-68, ESW-88-72 Asteroid Field, Ezra Shanir System

One of my recon pickets recently detected two large objects within the ajacent sector, objects I belive are the damaged Vaygr Battle Barge and a Basul-Re class supercarrier. The presance of Imperial Fighter patrols seems to back this up. I belive several medium capital scale targets are also present

From what I can tell, the Battle Barge is critically damaged and it's weapons are nonfunctional. The Taiidan seem to be repairing it so as to use it for whatever purpose, either so it can escape or rejoin the fight.

However, I want to confirm some things, and I can't deploy transmission interceptors in this soup, so someone will need to board an enemy ship and intern it's crew. Interrogation and downloading of the ship's recorders should give us a better picture of the enemy positions in the area, thus allowing me to plan a better co-ordinated assault.

Remember standard boarding procedure. Disable the target ship, clear the area, establish a perimiter, then deploy ASCA and marines. A case of Whiskey to whoever get's the first enemy vessel intact, but don't take unnessiscary risks.

Upon receiving the orders I decided to stay here with the crew's consensus. We repaired a distress beacon on the least-damaged ship, strapped a few rocket boosters added a heavy Duty EMP device, and there was a trap, the crew nicknamed it ''The Flycatcher''. We should be able to catch something.

As no Dedicated boarding vessels are in the vicinity, we'll have to do this the ''old fashioned way.

Message reveived: 2/5/9620. message scrambled and delayed by high radiation levels at source.

Mayday, Mayday
Any Hiigaran forces receiving this, this is Admiral Donitere formerly of the 15th Fleet. It is imperative that the contents of this message reach Admiral Watsas.

On 15th of April, 9620, the 15th Fleet was ambushed by Vaygr forces near the Ezra Shanir System. The Vaygr Fleet was massive as the 15th was overwhelmed. The details of said battle are unimportant at the moment, as space in this file is limited. It is enough to say that the 15th was nearly wiped out. Many of my boys were lost. I'm sure you have discovered the battle site by now and know the extent of our losses. My own flagship, the Valorous, along with a small number of capital ships, a handful of frigates, and some carriers and their fighters, managed to escape. I attempted to send a distress call early in the battle, but I was being jammed. I have judged from recent events that the Vaygr must have been supported by Taiidan forces or, at the very least, equipment which they used to do the jamming.

The remnants of the 15th managed to escape to a small asteroid field near the Ezra Shanir System, fighting off Vaygr perusers the whole way. We managed to lose them in the dust for a time, but they came back, this time with Taiidan reinforcements, and drove us further from the other admiral's fleets. The radiation in the area has made navigation perilous and communication, even between my own ships, difficult at best. We have been reduced, at times, to signaling with our nav lights. In addition to this, resource recovery operations have been fruitless. The rock in this area is extremely hard and, oddly enough, imbued with diamonds. In any case, these findings are useful, but not the reason for this message.

You may already be aware of the situation, Admiral, but I am officially announcing Code Zulu. It is currently 0845 on 29/4/9620 and our worst suspicions are confirmed. The Taiidan are no longer simply helping the enemy, they have joined them wholeheartedly. In my running, I jumped nearly on top of a large Taiidan fleet heading towards, what I can only imagine is, the front line. They opened fire immediately and I was forced to make a blind jump. I am currently in the process of making my way back to Hiigaran controlled space. This whole area, however, is crawling with Vaygr and Taiidan patrols. My ships are damaged and very low on ammunition and fuel. I do not expect to make it back alive, but me and my boys are not going down without a fight. I will attempt to contact you again. I am in a part of space that is clear of dust and radiation, but I must move on lest I get pinged and discovered. I will transmit tactical data and details as I am able.

We are, or will be very soon, at war with the Taiidan

Good hunting the coming battle, Admiral.

-Fleet Admiral Jacyok Serah Donitere, 15th Fleet, HGNS, SN: 0921-4412

This message will repeat.

Location: HN Deliverance II BVC-02, en route to SY-30 staging area

This is Commodore Anavel Manatal of the 23rd TF, I have been attached to this op by STRATCOM and have been ordered to provide additional reinforcements to your fleet. I am currently being attached to your admiral and will be standing by for orders, however only little more than half my forces are present the rest is stationed at serum receiving ressuply and refit.

I apologize for my late arrival resupply loadouts on my vessel were slower than expected. My ship is a prototype battlecarrier designed to deal with this new "Battle Barge" of the vagyr's as well as repel any thing else the vagyr can throw at us.

My current force loadout is as follows:
Deliverance II HN Deliverance II BVC-98
Prince of Hiigara BCE-72 Hammer
BCE-43 Outlaw
Arcadia HN Nautilus ACV-27
Marquess HN Spear CVL-55
HN Firefly CVL-67
Arbiter x4
Agressor x2
Liir Hra x3
Linebacker x1 HN Manticore ECWF-409
Bloodhound x8
Wolfe x5
DEW x8
Hydra x3
Nightingale x7
Support x3
Lavi x3
Kopesh x3
LSF x10
Blade 22D x8
Avenger AST. x8
Avenger scout x2
Thunderbolt mk1 x10
Thunderbolt mk4 x9
kites drones x 20

The EW ship manticore has an improved data encryption software that will decipher encrypted enemy messages much more rapidly, as well as enhanced sensor jamming thanks to Adm. seraphims efforts in aqcuiring taidani sensor and comm technology.

I have also recieved Admiral Donitere's message and request permission to take my forces and support the 15th fleet in its objectives as they are in need of a miracle before we lose the entire fleet, and that is UNACCEPTABLE.

Right now the situation looks bad but this will be our finest hour and may sajuuk protect us.

OOC: @Kungfumasta: Well yes, you can still join the RP as a reaction force assigned to the main part of the fleet. Right now, the current theatre is getting a bit crowded, but I'm going to be sending some of you north to another system, and once we make it out of Ezra Shanir, we'll have a much more spread out AO

@Ammianus_marcellinus: Well, the Whole 15th fleet can't be cimpletely wiped out, due to the simple fact that only a small force from the 15th is present in our theatre of operations. Anyways, good to see you back. I thought I would have to send Seraphim to finish your job Pfft

Ah, yes. I have recived STRATCOM's briefing on your current status and tasking as well as a bunch of other random crap they sent me. Anyways, I have to maintain a low comm signature so I'll make this quick. Your force is to relieve Admaral Donitere and escort him to our staging area. Once there, you will await further orders from myself.

There is a Nalthoran rearguard DESRON moving in to assist and provide fire support, and they have an engineering support ship with them to provide whatever assistance they can offer. I would also advise deploying some long range sensors like NebuleX sattelites or Proximity Sensors to provide prevent the area from becoming a blindspot.

Location: SY-30 Staging Area

I read with alarm that several of our TFs were becoming tied down by enemy attacks, and less than an hour later I recieved a report from our long-range sensor pickets that a Taii/Vaygr fleet was inbound in battle formation and at extreme sensor range. I realised that they had not seen my fleet, and so moved to conduct a hit-and-run sortie on them. By no means should their fleet be considered destroyed, but I am confident that should they try and attack through the defensive minefield I have now created with their now somewhat depleted forces that they will be destroyed. After action report follows:

FORCES ENGAGED
TF 289, Currently attached to JTF 56
Arelian Defender HN Sabre, D-IIFM-24
Deliverance HN Korda, BV-756
Prince of Hiigara HN Surprise, BCE-93
Arcadia HN Knight, ACV-76

2x Thunderbolt Bomber Wings (Aboard HN Korda)
10x LSF-II Squadrons (Aboard HN Knight)
2x LSF-II Squadrons (Aboard HN Surprise)

SY-30 Defense Fleet
Praetor CVH HN Javelin CVH-785 and HN I'kann, CVH-284
Resolution Marine Frigates HN Striker MF-7891, Daring MF-2265, Imperious MF-4566, Conviction MF-3274 and Lynx MF-678
20 LSF-II squadrons
4 Thunderbolt squadrons.

ENEMY FORCES ENGAGED:
4x Khalifah BB
4x Strikecarrier (Unknown as to whether they were Taii or Vaygr Mou'akir)
8x Al-Moudamer
Many frigates and corvettes
Around twenty fighter squadrons

Losses:
Only seven fighters, minimal hull damage due to beam weapons

Enemy losses:
Five frigates, many corvettes, several fighters as well as two Strikecarriers. A Khalifah had its engine section destroyed, but was still able to fire its main battery. Three Al-Moudamers were destroyed with another presumed KIA due to a massive portside decompression visible after a multiple missile strike. Importantly, one Khalifah was boarded and captured during the strike.

Using the Unseen and a couple of LSF-II squadrons, I was able to get an accurate idea of the enemy position. I had the Knight transfer over its fighters to the Surprise, Sabre and Korda, and had the three prepare to jump. Using impulse power with their sensors off, the small Wolf and Resolution frigates were able to get very close to the enemy fleet without being discovered, staying just out of their active sensor range. At this point, my three capitals were short-jumped into long-engagement range of the enemy fleet, where our superior standoff munitions really gave us an edge. Three full salvoes had hit their targets by the time that we entered the enemy's weapons range, and we had our fighters already closing on their first attack runs, their CAP the only obstacle, with alert fighters still rushing to scramble. My capitals then stopped moving towards the enemy fleet and began reverse thrusting away, hovering on the edge of their weapons range and firing whilst the fighters made their first attack runs. The enraged enemy fleet pressed the attack, just as its fighters began to scramble en masse. What they did not realise, however, is that the SY-30 carriers now were within short-jump range of their rear. They realised this error when suddenly the Javelin and I'kann jumped in behind them and combat launched all of their fighters and bombers. At this point, with the enemy fleet splitting between Crusiers and Battlecruisers rushing to attack my capitals on the one flank, and carriers and fighters rushing to attack the Praetors on the other that I made my move. All of their fighters, corvettes and frigates were closing on the pincers of my fleet, assuming it to only be a two-pronged assault. I ordered the Wolves to make their attack runs, whereupon they smashed through the flank of the enemy Battlecruisers with no dedicated anti-frigate opposition to stop them. In order to stop the Battlecruisers trying to draw a bead on them, I ordered them to destroy the engines of the capitals if possible. The engine sections of two Khalifahs were destroyed before I ordered the Wolves to focus on the enemy carriers. With their fighters still covering the distance between their carriers and mine, they were defenseless, and two were sliced apart by the concentrated firepower of the frigates. In this time, the least damaged of the disabled Khalifahs was boarded, and bridge quickly taken. With this development, I waited until the hyperspace drives were repaired until ordering a pull-out, having to engage a number of Al-Moudamers that were trying to focus beam weapons on our Battlecruisers. On the far flank, the order was given just as enemy fighters engaged our LSFs, and they quickly bugged out to combat landings before the Praetors jumped. My capitals easily escaped, and the Resolutions and two Wolves nav-synched with the captured Khalifah and left with her. The commander of SY-30 has informed me that he is going to refit the Khalifah with HGN pattern weapons and then turn her over to my fleet. Her class type is 'Sabre', named in honour of my current flagship, and at his suggestion (as he is planning on keeping its massive frontal weapons array) it will be named HN Sword of Hiigara, S-X-1. With any luck it will be online and ready before the rest of that fleet reaches me, they certainly aren't very happy. Out.

Ok, I'm breaking radio silence to inform you that the Enemy carrier is moving toward your position. It's also launched long range bombers, tankers, and SEW craft. I'm about an hour out and am going to try and catch it off guard with a rapid strike. It appears that the Remnants of the Vaygr fleet are leaving the system thorugh a nearby slipgate, but the Imperial fleet is heading your way.

Meanwhile, I need you guys to baten down the hatches and prepare for an engagement. There's a large number of long range fighters and a small DESRON on their way to you, with at least one Qwaar-Jet II class cruiser supporting. It's too fast for my fleet to catch up with, so I suggest you pull into a tighter defensive line.

I'm preparing my attack as we speak, and I have to maintain Radio silence from here on. Keep sensor coverage on your flanks and pull back to a more advantagous position and you'll come out victorious. If I can kill the Carrier, that will probably cause the enemy fleet to retreat.

Watsas, OUT.

A long range bomber sortie by enemy forces managed to slip through the minefield and attack the staging area. Several ships undergoing re-fits were heavily damaged and the Agressor class HN Outlaw was destroyed. Several enemy bombers were destroyed by the CAP, but they were not chased past the minefield. I have decided that there must be an information leak somewhere, and have set the Sabre's drones exclusively to the task of re-setting the minefield, with the location known only to myself and the XO. Attached is the astrometrics data, for your eyes only. Long range scouts indicate that the enemy fleet is holding position, but that they appear to be already in attack formation, ready. They are spread over a small distance in a rough claw formation, and tracing the 'claws' out, we find small rapid attack frigate squadrons at the tips.... it seems a much more competent commander is now in place after my last move. I will have finished the defensive minefield in eight hours, and attached is my new fleet roster. Good luck to all of you, out.

The carrier group was less defended than i anticipated. The presence of the battleship surprised me, but it did not deter my forces from taking care of business.
