Point Defense Systems v4.9

Changes from version 4.8.F:

- Fixed spelling errors for the word "auxilliary" as in AWS mounts

- Dorsal AWS autocannon mount of Vagyr CV class equipped with DD-class ammunition, firing at 2000m/s to 3 seconds' range [compared to V-DD's 3000m/s to 2 seconds]. This configuration increases rate of fire at the expense of muzzle velocity.

- Reduced AWS fusion missile firing range on V-CVS/R. It poses an early-game inbalance, and has neligible tactical value otherwise.

- Reduced accuracy of BB-class weaponry against small lineship class targets. This is the last domain of the "100% accuracy" weapon configuration style.

- Armaments refit for H-BCI, adding a total of;

3x2 Arbiter Mk.1 turrets
1x2 Rapid-fire massdrivers
2x4 MRAM tubes

- New flight models for the following vessels

V-CV/S/SR
V-SY
V-BCFG
V-DD/L

H-BCV
H-CV
H-CVED
H-FF [entire family]
H-BCI
H-DD/E

All platforms

These vessels now maneuver with a factor of momentum, eliminating the RTS feel of "go here, stop, turn, move", and goes in-line with the doctrine of fluid maneuver engagements in preparation for the next generation of lineship combatants. The manevuer-centric piloting style is demonstrated on the BCV.

You'd also require some planning as to commitment of capital-class assets. No more DD pirouettes - reversing momentum of a capital vessel is not easy.

On the other hand, momentum can work to your advantage in bludgeoning assaults - and Hiigaran FFs and CVE have a new high G escape maneuver that is meant for breaking contact on short notice. Obviously it isn't comfortable for the crews, so save it for emergencies and sudden transitions from defensive to offensive stances to ambush the enemy. To order such a move, plot a movement order behind and above the flotilla. Setting it below will designate a more leisurely reversal. The CVED, being classified in size as FFH, has this flight style under evaluation.

Finally - try to use waypoint assignments when commanding FFs all the time, instead of manually plotting one waypoint at a time. Lack of proper mission planning ruins cohesion and try flying a 8,000 ton FF like a fighter... imagination would tell that it would require a lot of thought in advance to take into account the forces of physics. This notion includes momentum-reversal maneuvers like the above. You can use that for shoot and scoot tactics.

Differing handling characteristics of Vagyr and Hiigaran vessels is also implimented.

- Weapon systems configuration alterations across the board, including balancing optimizations, more "realistic" firing rates, etc

- More proper description for CPT Soban's FFM in the tactical UI.

- Improved unit descriptions across the board, including a revamped H-BCI Build UI textbox format. Potential standardization to this.

All other changes too small to be listed.
