The forum layout is pretty sensitive to content that exceeds certain limits in width. Please read the posts in here, and use them as Information for the common good looks of this our place. On a general approach, these rules are recommendations, most of You are accustomed to RelicNews or the Original PDS Forums, so You know the drill. Regarding graphics, I base the rules on the assumption of most people viewing this in 1024*768, and that all content, Gallery excepted, should be adapted to that. Head on and read what might be applicable. Thank you Edited by Homdax on 10-09-2005 14:27 |

Your signature is visible in Forum, and in Forum only. That is often a pretty crowded place, and I suggest to keep a minimalistic approach. There is no hack for one-signature-per-page or thread. Yet. Based on 1024*768, You should know that the center is 600 pixels wide, and of that, some 500 is used for Your posts. Thus I recommend a maximun signature size of 400*100 pixels as maximum size. I would however prefer 300*80 as common usage. Proportions are of course up to You. Please note I am not TELLING You to adapt any signature image, but rather explaining to you why it is a good idea to do so. Eventually I will be telling...

Avatars are good! ![]() It is a speedy way to recognize people in the Forum, and also perhaps a hint to their personality (or not). This is simple. Avatars are restricted to 100*100 pixels. If You fail to upload them in to Your profile, it will probably be due to the image being too big. The weight limit is set to 30 KB. |

Smiley's are helpful to understand peoples mood when they are writing. Some claim not, but nevertheless they help and are easy to understand. USAGE: Thou shalt not use more than 5 per post. Thou shalt avoid cluttering them without spaces, since cluttering them without spaces is not handled well by CMS software and may break the layout, should You clutter them with no spaces. Using linebreaks is even better, if You feel You have a motive to clutter them without spaces. Thou shalt respect these rulings, else thy shalt be punished in a terrible, terrible way. :master: Edited by Homdax on 06-10-2005 11:48 |

I DO NOT get it. I grabbed the image from the site where you linked it. Tried upping it as attachments in the previous post, but no. Then I opened it in my PS and resaved it lossless, renaming it *2.jpg and then it worked. When looking at the raw data I saw Adobe CC, could it be related to some image protection on CC accounts? This must be related with the jpg type. I saved it without progressive layers and it works.

Probably similar to what I did then... but why should it make that? I know we have had issues with MIME-Types but this is ridiculous...
